The majority of individuals that begin in network marketing think they’ll put in little to no time at all and ‘get-rich-quick.’ If you think you’re just going to make a bunch of money and quit your job without any real effort being put toward this business – you’re dead wrong, and should probably just quit MLM unless you are ready to start thinking like a business owner. Multi-level marketing is a real business and it is going to take time to build a substantial income. Nobody becomes wealthy in this business over night. That being said, you can reach a high level of success much faster than with most other business models, if you have good time management skills. To succeed in network marketing, it’s essential that you have a daily ‘business building’ time that you set aside to soley focus on the steps you wrote down that need to be accomplished to reach your goals. It really depends how fast you’re wanting to quit your day job, but I suggest spending three to five hours daily.

Network Marketing Tip #4: Be A First Rate Coach

This tip goes hand in hand with becoming a leader: you must be there to help the distributors your sponsor. As soon as you sponsor a new rep, immediately lend a hand on their goal setting and objectives to assist them in getting where they want as quickly as possible. Now, that being said, you need to be there, but without babysitting. They must take the business seriously and work it – you can’t force them into it. If it’s not in their heart, you can’t MAKE it be there. This happened to me with the very first distributor I recruited. I contacted him every day, asked him what action steps he followed for that particular day and if he needed anything. By the next month, he’d dropped out of my organization altogether. As you can plainly see, that person’s heart was not in it – and no matter how hard I tried, there was nothing driving him to build the business on his own. The people on your team that will emerge as leaders will contact YOU for help and put your recommendations into action to build the business.

Network Marketing Tip #5: Learn Marketing

I know this might seem rather redundant, but you joined a network marketing business. A lot of people think this is a ‘sales’ business. In my experience, there is no selling involved, whatsoever. You need to learn marketing and place your marketing efforts in front of the people who are basically out there looking for you, and they’ll call you up and join. If you’ve been active with a network marketing business for more than a few days, you have probably encountered some program or system touting the benefits of having multiple streams of income. This obviously makes sense since a very simple risk analysis will tell you that it can be dangerous to have all of your eggs in one basket. Even if you are making a lot of money, it can be quite stressful if you receive it all from one source.

Unfortunately, for many people, their dream of multiple streams of income quickly turns into multiple streams of expenses. Suddenly you are stuck paying for a bunch of programs, none of which are generating any revenue. This is simply one more reason why you need to work through some good MLM Training courses as soon as possible. By using an MLM Training program to gain the knowledge first you are in a better position to implement things like generating multiple streams of income.

The main issue for most people is that they sign up for everything all at once. If you take a measured approach and add your extra income streams one at a time, you will have a much better chance of success. This way you can allow each program to become profitable before you start working on the next one. Each additional income stream you add needs to become self-sufficient before you move on to the next one. This will ensure that your expenses don’t outstrip your ability to generate the revenue required to pay for them.

One of my secondary income streams is an affiliate program called Home Success System. This program bundles several important tools like an Autoresponder and a contact manager. By promoting this system along with my MLM Training program, I can offer my prospects a great, inexpensive resource and generate some additional income. This helps to fund the growth of my main network marketing business and also generates leads for it. I have found that MLM Training is one of the best things you can offer to your prospects as it begins the process of teaching people how to succeed with a network marketing business right from the start. By using MLM Training videos, I can show them the specific step-by-step methods I use to build my networking marketing business.

If you don’t have the capability or interest in creating your own MLM Training material for your prospects and members, you can also partner with someone who does provide a good MLM Training program. If you find someone who pays commissions or offers their MLM Training though an affiliate program, you will be able to generate some additional income for your business and still get your group the MLM Training they require.

One of the most important things for you to do is ensure that your additional income streams are all relevant to your main network marketing business. This way you can market several things to the leads you are generating. This makes efficient use of your advertising efforts and makes it easier to cover your advertising costs. The sooner your overall business is profitable, the sooner you can increase the number of leads you are generating and really start to grow your business.

List Generation – Bringing in the Flow of Traffic

This is one of the first things that every Internet Network Marketer worth their salt must concern themselves with. Lists are leads of people who have evinced some kind of interest in the product being sold. These people have taken some kind of positive action, such as downloading an eBook, subscribing to a newsletter, becoming a member of the site, etc. You have to build such lists of people. There are various ways to do that, and adding lead capture pages is one of those ways. Research on these ways over the Internet and then try to implement those which best suit your case.

Email Marketing – Keeping the Traffic Interested

You don’t want the people you have gathered so earnestly to just vanish. You must know that people are very finicky when it comes to buying something. They are also fickle-minded. They might hem and haw a lot. However, this decision-making period is crucial to you. If you want them to convert into being your customers, you have to make sure that you do things to keep their interest piqued.

One of the ways to do this is to send them emails. These emails must be sent only to your list and there too they must be sent in a completely non-spammy manner. That means you have to send them some useful information that they will actually welcome. When they see that you have it in you to give some good information about the market, they will not mind adding themselves to your horde of customers.

Autoresponders – Showing Your Promptness of Service

You cannot expect to be online all the time, but you can still show your subscribers and customers that you are. You can do this by using autoresponders. These tools send automated messages to your people when they take a particular action. You can run a whole business through autoresponders if you wanted, but the least use that you must make of them is in giving your people prompt replies to the favorable actions they have taken toward your business.

As soon as you are able to get your network marketing business started, generating leads and recruiting a few people, one of your top priorities becomes getting your new members working effectively. While you still need to keep generating leads and promoting your business, it’s essential that you get your team working effectively as soon as possible as a large portion of your income growth will come from the contributions of your team.

The most important thing you can do for a new member is provide them with a good MLM Training program. You either need to develop the MLM Training courses yourself or partner with someone who has already established a good MLM Training program. You need to increase your new members’ knowledge as quickly as possible. This will allow them to have some early success which in turn will keep them interested and financially capable of continuing. One of the reasons why so many people quit their network marketing businesses shortly after joining is that it takes them too long to make enough money to cover their related expenses and they simply cannot afford to continue. It’s actually even better for you to offer MLM Training courses to prospects that have not even joined a network marketing business yet. This allows them to start learning how to succeed before they start incurring the expenses.

Besides a good MLM Training program you also need to provide your new members with vision and guidance. You need to help them see the path from where they are now to where they want to be and guide them along the way. Your MLM Training program should provide specific step-by-step instructions for the tasks required of them. This will allow them to easily see what actions they need to take to build their business. It’s preferable that you deliver your MLM Training online through the use of MLM Training videos or written material. This will allow you students to work through the material on when it suits them. You can then focus your attention on answering their questions and being a mentor and visionary as well as continuing to generate new leads.

It will also help you new members if they can see examples of people who have already had success with network marketing. You need to share your story at every opportunity. Be careful not to sound too much like you are bragging about it, but it will provide a lot of hope and encouragement to them if they can see that you became successful and are willing to share your knowledge in order to help them get there. It is a lot harder to recruit new people than to retain the ones you already have so you need to make sure that you spend enough time working with your team. You obviously can’t get too bogged down in this or you business will stop growing. By focusing your attention on the new members who are working the hardest and actively trying to succeed you will develop a strong core for your team.

Every new member that you are able to successfully train will become a productive member of your team and contribute to your network marketing income.

Building MLM Downlines and the whole area of MLM lead generation are not unfortunately areas you can dump on your upline – much as they have an interest in your MLM success. However, if you can get good at MLM lead generation, then your group becomes a highly attractive place for your upline to position their newly-sponsored distributors. Now, their MLM success is closely linked to building MLM downlines under you specifically.

I remember in the nineties that my MLM opportunity at the time encouraged us all to be building MLM downlines ‘wide’. This meant running our group with as many different ‘legs’ as we could manage. This could of course be very profitable and worked so long as some of those seeds germinated. What was often a barrier to lasting MLM success though was the fall-out rate. You may well remember that feeling of spinning plates! It’s a fact that many people seeking MLM success will drop out if they don’t see ‘results’ within a week or so. The ‘something for nothing’ mindset survives all economic cycles, and these same people become the hysterical MLM detractors of the future. ‘I was in that thing and it didn’t work’. Ever heard that before?!

But let’s be honest if we don’t start building MLM downlines soon, all we have is a ‘club.’. Having a star upline team behind you is very important in that ‘multi-level’ or ‘network’ marketing claims rightly to be your own business though you’re never ‘on your own’. Find someone upline who’s upbeat, creating results, and is someone whom you can work with. It doesn’t have to be your sponsor. They might quit next week! You can enjoy a great deal of back up and support from the ‘star team’ in your upline. Whilst that’s important though, all the moral support in the world won’t pay as well as active distributors in your downline. To accomplish that, you’ll want to generate MLM success ‘on autopilot’ with your own MLM lead generation campaign. Most importantly, you don’t need anyone in your upline to make this happen.

These days there are a shed load of resources out there to help you find online MLM success, and it’s up to you and your ambition level to study the MLM lead generation methodology. If you’re blessed with an enlightened upline, they will support your ambitious online efforts, and will gratefully accept advice in some areas where you may have the technical edge. In this respect, building MLM downlines can become more of a collaboration of equals rather than the ‘this is how we always do it’ mindset which has lead to MLM’s ‘cult’ label in the eyes of many on the outside.

In the past, our upline has been the main fount of knowledge for us, and these days they are still a great support resource. Let’s not forget the golden rule of this industry, that of ‘building success on the success of others.’ But if our upline is not able to give advice on autoresponders, one time offers, funded proposals and traffic exchanges, does that mean those avenues are closed to us? Far from it. In this ‘new world’ of online MLM lead generation, we have complete freedom to chase MLM success using modern technology.

So is building MLM downlines something we’re stuck with battling away at unaided? No. Put yourself in your upline’s position for a moment. Someone in your group, perhaps several levels down, has ‘struck oil’ with an online MLM lead generation system that is pouring distributors in on autopilot. You are sponsoring people too but are aware that new distributors can fall away quickly. Now that most companies agree that lasting MLM success is better achieved by building three or four ‘deep legs’ than twenty or so shallow ones, where would be the best part of your group to place those new people? Exactly! Under that distributor way down in your group that can’t stop sponsoring people!

There’s more. If you learn an MLM lead generation system, build your own list that’s yours and not your company’s, and have several of your upline routinely placing new distributors under you to catch the ‘wave’ of your MLM success online, then you have an endless stream of prospects who would be very hot for all the online business tools that you’ve been using for building MLM downlines in the first place. You can eaarn affiliate commissions on all those sales. Everyone wants what works. You’ll be what works. You’ll be the star of your star team!

So by building MLM downlines that are productive, by capturing the contact details of twenty business builders who don’t want your opportunity for every one that does, and by building your MLM success with an online MLM lead genearation system that works on autopilot, you’ll be amazed at how attractive you become to your upline.

Success in MLM Opportunities is beyond reach for most people. The reason for that are the very methods being encouraged by most network marketing companies.

MLM: Past… Present and Future

You don’t have to use those old mlm methods anymore and because you don’t… you can be successful by operating your mlm opportunities from the internet. Offline mlm has a 77 year past… the methods developed over those years did work. But do you use a shovel and pick to build a road… when an excavator and grader are available? No… of course not… you use the best tools available. So with mlm you also use the best available tools.

As more and more people understand this… we’ll see mlm opportunities prosper online… and the shameful failure rate improve!

The Old MLM Methods

The very unpopular practice of ‘making-a-list’ of family, friends, storekeepers, school-teachers and anyone you meet… to systematically promote your mlm opportunities to… has caused many people much grief, family disputes, and lost friends. If your family and friends are interested in your business… they’ll ask you! But to assume that they are interested… is so wrong!

An equally unpopular old mlm method… that is also very costly… is ‘buying leads and genealogy lists’ from ‘lead’ companies. The success rate with these is ultra-low and the time consumed is extreme. They always have been a blatant waste of time and money. However ‘lead’ companies keep dressing-up leads to market them in new ways. It’s good to understand where a ‘lead’ comes from. A ‘lead’ is the often suspect details of a person who has exchanged details for a downloadable freebie. Hardly a quality prospect for your mlm opportunities.

Other time-consuming methods encouraged by mlm companies are attending meetings, seminars, ad placements, notices etc… all for a low-level of result. To the mlm company… you are the unpaid salesman and you are the paying customer. You do need to buy products to earn commissions. If a member never bought product… he/she would be missing out on commission… based on sales in his/her team. It’s reasonable that you should be ‘active,’ but the amount of product you have to purchase to be ‘active’ is often ‘jacked-up’ and unreasonable.

Membership fees of either a once-only cost or a low-cost annual fee are acceptable. That membership fee should be the only requirement for membership! The problem with some companies is that they tie mlm opportunities membership to product purchase. In fact their compensation plan rewards are based on jacked-up member purchases. This is completely wrong and product purchase should be based on customer sales and the actual buying of product as part of membership is unfair. Member purchase of product should always be optional.

Selling techniques are not taught in the old mlm model. Sharing is a word often used. It doesn’t matter what word is used… the fact is… you gotta exchange money for stuff. That is selling… and if there’s no selling… no one gets any money!

Many people are fearful of ‘sales’ and often look at mlm opportunities in the hope that no-selling is involved. What they are really fearful of is face-to-face selling. That is not a concern on the internet where you use text. Although wonderful tools like Skype Webcam (VOIP) phones as great for bringing your team members into your lounge-room. Network Marketing companies need mlmers to create large product-buying teams. Mlmers want to create a large ‘residual’ income.

This requires good relationship building interpersonal skills by mlmers. The bigger the team you build… the bigger the reward! No need for opportunity, training, or hotel meetings, or seminars… and long hours on the phone talking to ‘lookers.’ You can do all the marketing that brings results… from your home… using your fingertips at your computer… operating from your own website business.

The New Online MLM

MLM opportunities on the internet is progress in motion! As I alluded to earlier… you don’t want to be using archaic marketing methods… when there are new, better marketing techniques available. One of the best aspects of an online mlm business is you only ever… talk to or email people who have expressed an interest in your business. How much better is that? If your content information in your website business doesn’t interest people… that’s Ok… you’re only interested in those who like your content! You have ‘lookers’ and ‘non- doers’… on the internet as well!

The internet is the channel through which you will reach vast numbers of people. You’ll get a percentage of site-visitors ‘put their hand-up’ as being interested in your business… others will subscribe to your newsletter… as well others will buy some of your affiliate programs, products or ebooks. This is the new online mlm opportunities way and it is far superior than the old model. Using this marketing method… income flow will build as you increase your website business marketing.

The best Online Marketing Tools

Basically on the internet there are two main marketing methods. 1. Content or Information Marketing 2. Interactive Marketing. As well as these marketing methods there’s Online Advertising which comprises two main styles. 1. Pay-Per-Click Advertising 2. Online Classifieds.

The essential content method you need to use is to have a ‘content website.’ Your website business must be based on information… freely given information that your site-visitors can use and appreciate. Having quality information can lead to a few things. 1. Your site-visitors will bookmark and return to your site 2. Site-visitors will subscribe to your newsletter 3. Search Engines will increase your site ranking… thereby increasing the numbers of site-visitors 4. Some site-visitors will buy your programs or products 5. Some site-visitors will express an interest in your mlm opportunities.

Another powerful content marketing method is article-writing. By submitting a theme article pointing to one of your webpages… you are sending more site-visitors and further increasing your site ranking at the search engines. Articles are usually 400 words up and can include photos and videos, surveys or even competitions. Maybe you can’t do this at all article directories… but certainly all the good directories. Website-Articles.net are very progressive in this regard.

Other content information methods are press-releases, white-papers and video streaming. All these approaches contribute to and complement natural search traffic generated by your content website. Content information informs those one billion plus search-box clickers. It is all about giving people the information they want, while marketing your programs, products and mlm opportunities.

Interactive marketing is becoming huge and certainly too big to ignore! Blogs, niche-forums, bookmarking sites, social networking sites and squidoo lenses are the ‘key’ interactive methods. Blogs are where you can do some serious marketing. People can learn about you and your business… from your blog you can direct people to your website business. A different approach to blogging is the mini-blog… Twitter.com A video series on Twitter training is available now and it takes you through the set-up and use of Twitter to benefit your website business. I found it very useful and easy to follow. The presenter of this series is exceptional in delivery of the content.

Niche-forums are a little different in that you can’t directly ‘market’ your buiness. You do have your signture-links though… and forum contacts will visit your site. At forums you ask questions, make comments and give advise. You are generally posting to like-minded forum users. Joining a few of these will help you and your business. Finding responsive niche-forums is essential.

In social networking sites… you’ll also find it is bad manners to directly ‘market’ your business. However you do give your signature-links a good work-over! Contacts will visit your business site and even if they are not interested, they may know others who are interested in what your website business offers. Regularily posting useful information can generate good questions and activity at social sites. Being active at about three social sites would be enough to boost site visits considerable. Also you do have to manage your time.

Except for boosting a new website or new product… I don’t recommend pay-per-click advertising. They are far too costly for most marketers. If you take the time to learn how to do them properly… you can get good results and return on investment. Generally most people don’t take that time to learn and get seriously burnt. So learn or leave!

Online classified sites like Craigs List have about 40 million visitors each month. The results are generally not forthcoming to spend too much time on this marketing approach. If you have the time… they are worth a blast, particularily if you have a high-demand product. All those site-visitors have gotta click-off to a few sites.

Conclusions

Having effective website marketing strategies in your own website business is vital to being an independent mlm opportunities operator. There are a variety of ways to generate income in your website business. You are not ‘tied’ to your mlm income. If your current mlm business ‘folds’… you find another. Your website is still standing no matter what!

In selecting mlm opportunities to market… choose ones that don’t tie ‘jacked-up’ member product purchases to the membership. Pay your membership fee to be a member and have the option to purchase or not. On the matter of company product to market… I have always felt that the best approach is to be generic. Don’t come into tying your website to one mlm company. Most companies will not allow you to mention their tradenamed products or the company registered name along with other mlm opportunities. So keep it ‘generic’… don’t mention any tradenames or company names. Just link-off to the company website. Use blogs and emails to be more specific with your interested site-visitors.

Do have a regular newsletter where you can keep your subscribers informed… and with time build a level of trust. People do not join you in your mlm opportunities without ‘trust.’ The tools you’ll use in newsletter editing are an autoresponder, to respond to new subscribers and send your regular newsletter and you’ll need a supply of relevant articles. These you’ll find at Article Directories. Providing a quality content newsletter will retain your subscribers longer!

Network Marketers are leading the ‘shift’ to the internet. The internet has evolved into a tool that all networkers can use and use well. Network marketing companies that fail to see the power of the internet for the networkers… and therefore the benefit that network marketing companies can gain from that… will be the losers! It is my opinion that ‘old model’ institutionalized networkers will be stubborn and resist this powerful ‘shift.’ They may have more to lose if they have huge downlines. However progress will not stop for anyone!

Members of network marketing companies are involved to ‘make money’… that’s the primary purpose. Forget the personal development and friendships… ‘make money’ is the primary purpose of being in mlm opportunities! Because it works better and ‘easier’ online than it does offline… that’s where you go! Get your own website business started now by building your content website!

Shifting Your Mindset for Success

My attitude has caused me to miss so many opportunities it’s really not funny.

If I had a different attitude back in 2001, I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this to you now. I would probably be retired at billionaire status.

That was when I started dabbling in this whole making money on the Internet thing. I was just trying to make a few dollars here and there.

I know, it’s always 20/20 hindsight. However, if I could have my time again I would do things so much differently.

Back then all this stuff was new to me, as it is for many of you. As a result, it was exciting and fresh and most of all fun. I’d stay up all night working on my sites, fluffing around with this and that.

I loved it and it really didn’t feel like work.

In most people’s minds, this sounds like a good thing. However, there is a core problem with this that can actually harm your quest for making money online.

You see, most of us are programmed to do two kinds of work. The work that earns us money should be hard. This is serious stuff and most of the time is neither fun, nor would you ever want to do it for free.

Then there is the other kind of work that is enjoyable. Normally what would be considered your hobbies. That might be surfing, building model airplanes, photography, etc. It’s the kind of work that can be hard, but doesn’t have to be, and you’re doing it because you enjoy it.

So you’re programmed that if you’re enjoying yourself, and you aren’t earning a lot or any money from the exercise, then it’s simply a hobby.

Unfortunately, there lies the root of many people’s failure to making lots of money online. They see it as a hobby.

THE PROBLEMS WITH A HOBBY MENTALITY

When you treat your business like a hobby, there are all sorts of negative side effects as you might imagine.One of my hobbies is playing golf.

That’s the great thing about a hobby. If you fail, then that’s OK. If you want to switch hobbies then that’s cool too. If you spend all day and only get 1 or 2 great shots, then no big deal. The process was fun.

But this kind of mentality is dangerous if you want to have success in a new online business. If you are treating it like a hobby, you’ll probably fail.

HOW TO CURE THE HOBBY MENTALITY ONCE & FOR ALL

When you write about correcting people’s incorrect behavior, it’s easy to sound preachy. I’m the first one to admit, that I don’t do all of these things well so don’t feel like I’m on my soap box here.

However, what drives me is to encourage us all to not miss out on the amazing opportunities that are still passing us by everyday. I might long to be back in 2001, but I can guarantee you in 10 years we’ll be longing to be back in 2010 saying if only.

So, do all that you can to tackle this paradigm problem and make the most of what you have. Here are a few strategies that I have used in the past successfully & taught the students in my internet network marketing coaching program.

Create an Imaginary Friend with Billable Hours

When you have hobby mentality, you have no respect for your time. When I play golf, I don’t think about how many hours went into those couple of great shots.

Don’t let that creep into your business. One strategy I’ve used is to create an imaginary client. The affiliate site I’m working on is not my own, but this imaginary client. I know that for every hour I work on the site, I need to justify the time I spent as they are paying for it.

No client in their right mind is going to want to pay me for shooting the breeze for hours on end on Twitter or Facebook. If I can’t prove that this is directly going to bring positive ROI, then I probably shouldn’t be doing it.

I would encourage you to do this seriously. Use time tracking and reporting software to make this real.

Set Goals & Deadlines

I can’t stress enough the importance of setting goals and deadlines on your projects. As Steve Jobs said, “Real Artists Ship”. In other words, it doesn’t become art, unless someone else sees it or uses it.

If you don’t have deadlines in place, you’ll just keep refining and refining and never actually “ship”.

You should also work on daily deadlines. I create a list each day that consists of really 3 parts.

   1. You don’t go home until this is done.
   2. Important, money making work.
   3. Long term business building activities.

By using this prioritization system, I can ensure that projects move forward, money is made, and the bigger picture business is built.

Performance goals are also important. Goal setting is a big topic to cover, and I’m not going to try and do it here, however, it’s fundamental if you want to see success.

Enforce Accountability

In addition to the imaginary client, I would encourage you to get some accountability partners. This could be your life partner (wife, husband etc.) or it could be some sort of mastermind group.

Whoever it is, ensure that they are on the same page and believe in you. Mastermind groups are excellent and whenever I’ve had the chance to be involved in this kind of thing, it has been immensely encouraging and helpful. Going to marketing conferences can have a similar effect sometimes.

If you do have a significant other, it’s important that you involve them as much as you can. Share as much as you can with them, and celebrate the wins with them. Even though my wife doesn’t know exactly how I do what I do after 8 years of being together, she knows enough to help me through disappointing times, and to join in the celebrations when I have a win. I couldn’t do it without her.

Mental Cues

A big part of moving your mindset from hobby to business, is to use mental cues as much as you can. There are many ways you can do this. Including:

    * Creating a dedicated work area that is ONLY for work.
    * Creating a set time each day that is your work time.
    * Dressing differently when you work. I know it sounds strange, however, a business mindset and pajama’s just don’t go well together in my book.
    * Giving your business a name, and getting business cards made.

Write a Business Plan

A business plan doesn’t need to be a 100 page document. A friend of mine ran a 200 million dollar company and helped me write a business plan. He believed it shouldn’t be longer than 6 pages. That’s all you need.

It’s difficult to find treasure without a map.

Reinvest into Your Business

I see people all the time ONLY focus on free traffic sources. This is small time thinking. I’ve seen very few businesses that have become big that haven’t eventually moved to paying for advertising. Usually using PPC.

Sure, you don’t need to do it straight away. However, I would encourage you to reinvest back into your business as much as you can if you want to grow it fast.

Focus and reclaim wasted time

One of the biggest battles we all have online is keeping focus.We must master this in two main areas.

Project Focus

How many times have you started something, not finished it, and then gone onto something else. Almost everyone has done it, and some more than others. You must stick to your business plan and execute what you set out to do. Remember, a magnifying glass will never set anything alight if you keep moving it.

Task Focus

The day to day problem that many people encounter is keeping a tight focus on the tasks. The Internet is the worlds biggest distraction. Focus on the tasks at hand. Only turn it back on when you absolutely require it.

If you use Firefox, then try using an add-on called Leechblock. I love it. It stops me visiting sites that are distracting during certain times of the day. When you try to go there, you can even customize a message that says “Get back to work slacker! Time is money!”

Now… go and find a post it note and a black marker and stick this on your monitor… “THIS IS NOT A HOBBY!”

Without a doubt, it takes a lot of work to create Internet network marketing campaigns and track those campaigns’ results. Many people think that owning an online business is not real work. You know that is one big myth.

Email campaigns are still a popular way to market and yet most email is put directly into the trash unopened and unread. To improve the odds that your email will be opened, read and responded to, you can incorporate the tips on improving the subject line that are found in this article into your own email campaigns.

How To Improve An Email Subject Line

Your subject line needs to attract the reader and arouse curiosity about the contents of the email. You will not do anything but incur the wrath of the reader if you lie or exaggerate. Stay away from subject lines that have nothing to do with the contents of the email.

Nobody likes to be yelled at so make sure you TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK AND AVOID WRITING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. It has a harsh, jarring effect that will not put your reader in a good frame of mind and will certainly do nothing to build a trustworthy relationship between the two of you.

Be generous with your freebies. When giving away a freebie, start your subject line with “free.” Be positive that your readers will find the freebie worthwhile and of value to them.

Using the word “stop” also attracts attention. Once you have the reader’s attention, it is your job to use a pithy subject line to get them to open the email. People are trained to obey the word stop, so use it to your advantage, but remember – no lying.

Posing a question to your reader is another way to automatically call attention to your email. Things like “Do You Want To Slim Down By Summer?” or “Are You Looking For ______?” are two simple examples of questions.

Starting the subject line with the reader’s name is a sure way to get your subject line noticed. People really do respond to things much more favorably if their names are used. Be sure that you enter the variable field correctly.

Authenticity is paramount. Be ethical in each of your Internet network marketing campaigns. Send worthwhile, usable freebies that are immediately useful. That way your list will learn to trust you and know that email with your “from” address will hold something really valuable for them. Your goal is to build a loyal, responsive list that has feelings of goodwill toward you.

Above all else, the success of your network marketing business depends on your ability to build a large contact list. After that though, your ability to use that list effectively will determine the income level that you will be able to achieve. There is no doubt that the most successful enrollers are people who are able to quickly build a rapport with their prospects.

Your prospects will begin forming an opinion of you and your business the first time they come in contact with you. If you get them to your website by making outrageous promises or flat out lying, you will have a very difficult time building trust with them. You need to make sure that you are offering something useful to your prospects and it is fine to promise a lot so long as you deliver even more. I promote my MLM Training program in a lot of my advertising. The prospect then associates learning and knowledge with me and my MLM Training courses. If your first contact with a prospect leaves them with a positive impression then you are well on your way to building a productive relationship with them. I work very hard to ensure that my MLM Training is useful and effective which further strengthens their impression of me. At this point I have not even tried to enroll them in a business or pitch any products. I am simply offering a MLM Training program that will help them make money with their network marketing business.

The most important thing you can do for your prospects is to help them. The best thing for them would be to enroll under you in your business and then have you build their downline for them. This is obviously unrealistic and inefficient in the long term in any case. The next best thing you can do for them is increase their knowledge with a good MLM Training program. By offering them MLM Training courses you will ensure that they have a better chance to succeed. Some will agree to join your business but many won’t. This is no reason not to provide knowledge to all of your prospects. You will benefit in a number of other ways even if they don’t join your business. Your personal reputation for one will benefit from having so many people in the industry who have benefitted from their contact with you.

Many successful people in network marketing use an Autoresponder as part of their marketing system. It’s important to understand that the primary function of your Autoresponder messages is NOT to spam your leads and relentlessly beg them to join your main business. Your Autoresponder is the best way for you to further develop your relationship with your prospects. You should be using it to provide MLM Training courses or offering products and services that will really benefit them. You need to make sure that anything you send to them will improve their impression of you. Sending one message that is too exaggerated or misleading will completely destroy all of the goodwill that you have built up with them.

Regardless of whether you are building your business online or offline, personal relationships are still the foundation of MLM Success and providing good information to your prospects, especially in the form of a good MLM Training program will go a long way towards developing those relationships.
